The 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens from Rokinon gives you a 180° view with dramatic, exaggerated perspective when used with an APS-C camera, or a circular image floating in the frame when used with a full frame digital camera or 35mm film camera. With hybrid aspherical lenses and multi-layer coating, you will produce sharply defined images with a minimum of flare and ghosting. The 8mm manual focus lens focuses as close as 1' (30.48 cm) from the lens, and has a built-in petal lens hood.

Note: Produces a vignetted image on full-frame sensors or 35mm film

  • Ultra wide-angle 8mm fisheye lens with exaggerated perspective and approximately 180° angle of view, for dramatic effects
  • Ultra-wide 180° diagonal field-of-view for APS-C size image formats--will produce a rounded image that doesn't cover the entire frame when used with compatible full frame digital cameras
  • Manual focus lens with no electronic connections to the camera for automatic focus nor metering.
  • Lens is constructed with hybrid aspherical lenses for outstanding, sharply defined images
  • Lens features super multi-layer coating to reduce flare and ghost images
  • Lens has a minimum focusing distance of 12" (30.48 cm) for enhanced close-up shots
  • Lens includes a built-in petal-type lens hood

The CS II version would probably fit my style more with the removable hood. Otherwise, this is a wonderful lens! The build quality for the price is top notch.

Fun lens. Clear enough pictures. Set to F8 with focus to infinity and enjoy

Hood vs No Hood

I love this lens. Like everyone else with a new fish eye: I can't stop shooting with it!I love how crisp the images were, the color is right, and it feels rather sturdy for the cost.THE IMPORTANT THING ABOUT THIS LENS:This lens has a non-removable hood. You cannot take the hood off. The hood appears in photos on full-frame shots. So if you want a full 180 degrees on a full frame, order the lens with the removable hood. I believe it's $20 more. Otherwise, it comes with a cool circular frame.

Exactly what I was looking for.

The full frame fisheye I was looking for.

This is a really fun fisheye lens, exactly what I was hoping for. Here are some test photos I did on my Sony a7iv, both in aps-c cropped mode and and regular full from. You are intended to use this with crop mode turned on but I actually really like the look of full frame as the fixed hood and fringing on the hood's edge make for a really nice effect. While in my tests the photos are not super crisp by professional standards I still consider it great quality. Photos are straight from camera shot at f/11.0.
