The 16mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS Lens from Rokinon is a manual focus wide-angle lens compatible with APS-C format DSLR digital cameras. It provides a 79.5° angle of view which translates into a 35mm format equivalency of 25.6mm. A fast maximum aperture of f/2.0 is effective in low light shooting and provides shallow depth of field. With two aspherical lens elements and one extra-low dispersion element, chromatic aberrations are minimized and sharp, color-accurate images are the result. UMC lens coating facilitates even light transmission and reduces ghosting and flare.

  • Wide angle focal length equivalent to 25.6mm in the 35mm format
    • Fast f/2.0 maximum aperture for effective low light shooting and shallow depth of field
    • Aspherical and Extra-low Dispersion lens elements reduce aberrations
      • UMC lens coating allows even light transmission and minimizes ghosting and flare

      Great Astro Lens

I am very impressed with how sharp this lens is. Great for Milky Way photos. It's quite a bit larger and heavier than I was expecting, but I pretty much only use it with a tripod so it's a non-issue for me. My only 2 criticisms are that there is some play between the lens and the camera body after you attach the lens, and the electronic viewfinder always says your aperture is set at f0.0 no matter what aperture you actually are shooting. My original Fuji lenses fit much more snugly into the camera body and work more seamlessly, but I suppose some comprimises are to be expected with a lens 1/3 the price. Great lens for the money, and I do not regret purchasing it.

      Amazing Quailty Lens

I purchased this lens primarily for astrophotography due to its large aperture and I'm glad I did. Of the nighttime I'm shooting photos of the Milky Way @ F2, ISO 2000 and 20 Seconds and it produces tac sharp images that require minimal post processing. I have taken a few test shots of the day and have been so impressed with its image quality that it has a permanent place in my carry bag so I can use it for landscape photography too...

imaging circle seems to be smaller than cropped APS-C sensor size

I used this lens to capture a fragment of milky way at Cygnus with my astrophotography camera ASI533MC Pro with proper adapter.Taking master flat image , it showed considerable amount of vignetting which suggests it can’t fully iluminate 11mm x 11mm sensor.Stars are distorted around edges . This must be why it is sold around $300 price range.Yes, it is faster lens at F2 and require less exposure time than my F5 kit lens.I don’t like the lens hood included. it makes difficult to place white LED light panel while taking flat frames.(and didn’ used it at all)And it was good enough for my experiment to capture a piece of milky way at light poluted place.

      WOW...Love It..

I am new to astrophotography but not new to astronomy.I bought this for my Cannon Rebel 2TI after doing some research. All I can say is wow. This lens is awesome for the $$. I have never seen so many stars in my night sky before.Even me being new I was able to capture these cool shots.I don't have a tripod yet so I just set the camera on the roof of my truck and set the timer for a 2sec delay. These pics are just RAW pics, with no processing...20sec exposure .. and iso of 800-1200I know they are not the best photos, but I think I did ok for first-time night shots. Was even picking up the fireflies. So far I love this and can't wait to buy a star tracker.Hope this helps.
