Great quality, bit heavy and cumbersome, does not support latest EOS R bodies

I specifically bought this to pair with my EOS R6 mkii to take advantage of it's low light capabilities and IBIS for outdoor shoots in the city at night. However, when I tried shooting with an RF to EF adapter on my Canon R7, it locked up and froze the camera, same with the R6 mkii. It works fine on my Canon EOS 6D, EOS M and M50 with adapter and EOS R with adapter. However, I cannot use it on the R7 with speedbooster or R6 mkii with adapter so it has little chance of being used for my latest shooting setups. I will use it for a week but I don't think I will be keeping it.

Most Underrated Lens for Mirrorless Cameras!

*Adapted Canon M50*DISCLAIMER: The cat-eye and bokeh swirling seen is due to a speedbooster mounted on an APS-C, NOT the lens; I don’t have photos of pictures taken on my full-frame at the moment, will upload later, I apologize😩Ok, so I own a lot of fast prime lenses, and in my experience, this is by far my favorite 50mm in terms of quality of character. Yes it is manual focus, yes the Sigma Art is sharper, and yes it is RIDICULOUSLY large and heavy, but something about the image it produces is sooo stunning; the color composition and contrast is on par with Canon lenses, the bokeh is unworldly, and the extra stop of light at f1.2 is surprisingly VERY noticeable in low-light- yet in daylight there is little to no CA wide open!?! It’s amazing! The only lenses i’m aware of with the same capability are the bank-breaking zeiss lenses and canon’s new RF 50mm that cost upwards of $2.5k🤯All in all, I believe this or the 85mm XP are both definitely worth the money if you’re looking for a more unique look to your photos with little post editing needed; just be KEEP IN MIND, this is NOT a point and shoot camera and it will take a lot of patience manually focusing this lens if you’re newer to using MF, even with focus peaking and especially at f1.2. I recommend zooming in on the LCD to to focus on your subject before framing and you’ll be good to go. it’s a tough lens to work with but 100% worth it for the price!

Great purchase

I love this lens thus far. It is heavy, but the quality feels good. This is my second Rokinon SP lens.

Fantastic Lens - Do Not Use My Photographs.

I've rented and used the Canon 50mm f/1.2 lens a few times and was amazed at the quality and sharpness. I have the Canon 50mm f/1.8 and the Canon 50mm f/1.4, and I wanted to add the Canon 50mm f/1.2 lens to my photographic arsenal, but I could not justify spending $1500 on a lens. I have been using Rokinon lenses for a while now, and they're excellent. I have the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 and the Rokinon 85mm f/1.2, and both of these lenses are superb. The Rokinon 85mm f/1.2 is as sharp or even possibly sharper than its Canon counterpart. In any case, I heard that Rokinon was going to make a 50mm f/1.2 lens for Canon EF-mount DSLRs, but I couldn't find the lens anywhere. Finally, a few months ago, I noticed that both Amazon and B&H were carrying them. After purchasing the lens, I was surprised at how big it was. It's even larger and heavier than the Rokinon 85mm f/1.2 (which is a large lens). I've never seen a 50mm lens as large as this one, but it's OK because it's beautifully constructed. The build quality is excellent, and the lens is a pleasure to hold. It's a fully-manual lens, but it does have focus confirmation. What this means is that while you are manually adjusting the focus ring on the lens, you will get the focus confirmation lights and beeps you'd normally get with an auto focus lens when the lens focuses on something. A lot of people don't like to use manual lenses, but I love them. Rokinon's lenses are mostly manual, and this is a good thing because it forces you to slow down and think about what you're doing. The Rokinon 50mm f/1.2 is insanely sharp. I compared it to Canon's 50mm f/1.2, and I think the Rokinon lens is sharper. I do not see any reason to pay $1500 for the Canon lens when the Rokinon 50mm f/1.2 lens is about half the price and produces images that are comparable and in some cases better. The lens is heavy, as I mentioned, so you have to get used to it. But once you do, it is an absolute pleasure to use. I use it on a Canon 6D body and sometimes on an SL2 (the effective focal length becomes closer to 80mm on a crop body Canon DSLR).If you're a Canon portrait photographer or a Canon photographer who just wants an excellent, sharp 50mm prime lens with an f/1.2 aperture, I recommend this lens. The colors are excellent, and the images are crisp. I've attached a few images that I've taken to this review so you can get a taste of what the lens can do.***Important: Do not use my photographs. There is a video on YouTube that someone made using these photographs without my permission. The video should be taken down. The person said they are an Amazon representative. I do not give permission for anyone to use my photographs.
