The Rokinon 12mm T2.2 Cine Lens is a wide-angle lens optimized for digital cinematography. The lens produces an image circle that will cover APS-C sized sensors or smaller. For use with a follow focus unit, the focus and aperture rings feature industry-standard 0.8 pitch gearing. The aperture ring is also de-clicked to allow for smooth iris pulls while shooting. Focus, aperture, and depth of field markings are on the side of the lens to aid focus pullers, who typically operates on the side of the camera.

In Canon M mount with an angle of view of 95.7°, the lens is well-suited for shooting landscapes, architecture, and for use in tight interior locations. It's fast maximum aperture of T2.2 also makes the lens suitable for shooting low-light conditions. Three extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements have been incorporated into the optical design to minimize chromatic aberrations and distortion in order to produce sharper images. Additionally, a Nano Coating System (NCS) has been applied to the lens elements in order to reduce surface reflections and prevent lens flare and ghosting for improved light transmission and more contrast-rich imagery. A bayonet-mount lens hood and lens pouch come included with the lens.

Perfect for Astrophotography,

I used a Rokinon 14 mm 2.8 but after first shot with this 12mm I never used again the 14mm. I did not see any distorsion so is perfect for me.

Great addition to my lens collection.

So far, I've had a great experience with the lens. I use it on a gimbal to shoot video. I also use it for general landscape or real estate photography. This is not an electronic lens, so you do have to put in work to get satisfying results. I recommend you watch several youtube tutorials and reviews before you buy it. It's manual so this is not a simple point and shoot lens.

Great value

Product delivered as expected. Have only used it a little so far but here's my take. Excellent build quality. Smooth focus and aperture rings. Sharp images. Like the pinch lens cap. Minimal barrel distortion at edges of frame. How it could be better. Communicate with the camera. Even a little. This lens is same as not having a lens far as camera awareness of what is attached. So camera (mine is Sony a6500) does not know focal length or f stop. I knew it was manual focus and aperture. No doubt these non-features help to keep the price down but I'm used to seeing f stop in the viewfinder. Can just look on side of lens.. not a deal breaker. The lens hood rattles off. Small piece of gaffers fixed that. All in all... I'll take the optical quality and low cost and am happy with purchase.

Awesome lens. Not a quick point and shoot but ...

Awesome lens. Not a quick point and shoot but unbelievable clarity for landscape and astrophotography. Also very sharp as a handheld lens at quick shutter speeds.
